Early in our relationship, he said “It’s you and me versus the world.” I thought that was a huge load of crap.

But he meant it. It’s been 7 looooooong years since we said “I do.” I swear we could have lived 100 lifetimes in those 7 years. Through it all, one thing never changed: This guy is the love of my life, my run-to, my ever after, the one who holds my heart until it stops beating. I love you fiercely, my Shua. This life would be unbearable without you. Thank you for being my ride or die through it all. Here’s to many more years of holding each other up.

I knew it was coming, but I was holding out hope. I’ll be shutting down my cleaning business at the end of the month. After my visit to the VA this morning for severe back pain/spasms, I watched as other veterans very much my senior wobbled into the building or needed to be pushed inside in a wheelchair.

At that point, I came to terms with the fact that I am getting older, and I need to focus on healing my body rather than breaking it down even more. I am keeping a couple of my most beloved clients for basic cleans, but I can’t continue working this way. If we had an appointment, I’ll be in touch with you about bringing you a cleaner I trust who is less broken.

On a lighter note, many thanks to a new but wonderful friend of mine for driving my broken @$$ around town today so I could get some relief. Let this be a lesson to you younger folks. Take care of your body. You won’t always be young (as I repeat what my parents told me years ago that I promptly ignored).

After a couple of pain and steroid shots along with a muscle relaxer, I’m feeling better. I forgot what it was like to not experience pain all the time. I need more of this in my life.

I just had my first dissatisfied client contact me. Though I believe it was a miscommunication, I just can’t shake it. In a year of cleaning homes, I’ve never had a complaint. I take a lot of pride in my work. I hate that I didn’t live up to expectations.

Now feels like a good time to remind everyone that my work is guaranteed. I will come back to fix anything I missed or that was not up to expectations as long as I am notified within 48 hours.

I will make it a point in the future to ask as many questions as necessary to make sure I do the work approriately. Some lessons are hard to learn.
