Can't I clean my dryer venting system myself? Well, you could...... and if your system is short and vented directly to the exterior, I recommend you do! If you have a longer piping system with elbows and bends you will need those rotary brushes on a stick and a drill, and let me tell you, they like to get stuck and break or come disconnected in your wall, ask me how I know, lol. Then you have a real problem. My system uses a solid flexible system which leaves no chance of breakage or disconnection. I will also follow up my work by snaking your system with a camera verifying the job is done correctly.

How do I know when its time to clean my dryer venting system?

Diligently emptying the lint out of your dryer isn’t enough to keep your home safe and energy efficient. Sometimes, you need to clean beyond the removable trap. There are several signs lint has traveled into your vents, which increases the risk of a house fire and can cause higher than normal utility bills.

1. Clothes take longer than normal to dry.

2. Clothes are unusually hot to the touch.

3. The room is warmer than normal when the dryer is running.

4. You’ve noticed burning smells.

5. The lint flap outside isn’t opening, or you see visible signs of lint build up. If there is that much lint on the outside, what's on the inside?

6. The dryer tells you there’s a problem. Some dryers will warn you.

7. The dryer stops working or keeps shutting down.

8. It’s been more than a year since cleaning the vent. If you can't remember the last time your system was cleaned, give me a call!

Why should I have my dryer vent professionally cleaned?

It saves energy

Cleaning your dryer vent regularly will help improve its efficiency, thus lowering the amount of power that it consumes. Homeowners who clean their dryer vent periodically can save on their energy bills.

Reduced maintenance cost

When the dryer vent is cleaned regularly, it is less likely to overheat or get clogged. As a result, it is less likely to break down or experience a technical problem.

Reduces the risk of fire

Lint is a highly flammable material. If left to accumulate on the vent, it can cause a fire that can cause havoc. Regular cleaning help to prevent lint buildup, thus preventing the risk of fire.

It reduces wear and tear on the dryer

If the dryer vent is not cleaned regularly, then the dryer is forced to work twice as hard to dry your clothes. This excessive strain can wear down crucial parts of the dryer. Regular cleaning helps to improve dryer efficiency, thus reducing wear and tear. Are you having to run your dryer twice or more to dry a load?
