At Mint Pools & Landscapes, we use gravel backfill around our fiberglass pools instead of dirt or sand.

Here are a few simple things to do after heavy rain or thunderstorms to keep your pool swim-ready all summer long:

✔️ Skim leaves and debris quickly before they sink
✔️ Check your water level after heavy downpours
✔️ Empty skimmer baskets so your system can run efficiently
✔️ Run your pump a little longer after storms to keep water circulating
✔️ Test your chemicals—rain can dilute chlorine and throw off balance
✔️ Brush steps, tanning ledges, and corners to help prevent algae buildup
✔️ If storms are frequent, shock treatments may be needed more often during the summer
