I’ve been in roofing for decades, and I can honestly say this: I have never cut corners to make up for a low-profit job — and I never will.

This homeowner had solar panels installed 18 months ago on a roof that was already worn out and brittle. The solar company sales guy told them the roof was fine. 

The Solar company met me on site to remove a couple panels to investigate a leak, I found:

• Shingles were already failing
• Damage caused during the install of the panels where a mounting cleat was installed
• Rotted decking
• Insurance previously denied claiming it’s not storm damage

Now the homeowner must pay to remove the panels and replace the roof.

⚠️ Important tip:
Always have a roofing contractor inspect your roof before installing solar panels.

If the roof is near the end of its life, replace it first.

It can save you thousands of dollars later
