It's - we're going back to 1914 in Plymouth, NC (Washington County).
📸Roanoke River Lighthouse in Plymouth, 1914. After the Civil War, the US government built a lighthouse in the Albemarle Sound at the mouth of the Roanoke River to help restart maritime commerce, and Plymouth was designated a port of entry for northeastern NC. The beacon was lit for the first time in January 1867, but the building burned down in1885, and ice chunks from the frozen river destroyed supports of the new replacement. Another Roanoke River Lighthouse went into service on February 12, 1887.
Built in 1886, the fully restored Roanoke River Lighthouse now stands proudly in the harbor at Edenton, NC
