🙂 With cities all across the country slowly going back outside this is just a friendly reminder to take extra precaution as we are still in the midst of a pandemic. Be Kind, Stay Home (If you can), Save Lives.

How often do you think you should be cleaning your bathroom? 👀

Ⓐ 1 time a week
Ⓑ 2 times a week
Ⓒ 1 time a month
Ⓓ 2 times a month

The answer may surprise you. Some areas should be cleaned daily, while other areas should be cleaned no less than once a week. A regular cleaning schedule can prevent grime and germs from building up and save you time in the long run.

Whether you are sharing your voice online or in person, educating yourself or others, or taking action from your home or protesting in the streets remember we all have to come back home and our homes should be a place of peace and relaxation. No matter how big or small this is the place that needs to feel safe. You may be having a stressful year and it feels like a never-ending disaster roller coaster ride. It's so important to evaluate how you are managing your stress. Here is one helpful tip we can all do.

Positive Self-Talk 🙂

Let’s be honest, we all talk to ourselves! Sometimes we talk out loud but usually, we do it in our heads. Self-talk can be positive ("I can do this" or "everything will be OK") or negative ("I'll never get better" or "I'm so stupid"). Negative self-talk increases stress. Positive self-talk can help you calm down and control stress. With practice, you can learn to shift negative thoughts to positive ones. For example:

Negative to Positive
"I can't do this."> "I'll do the best I can. I’ve got this."
"Everything is going wrong." > "I can handle this if I take one step at a time."
"I hate it when this happens." > "I know how to deal with this; I've done it before."
“I feel helpless and alone.”> “I can reach out and get help if I need it.”
“I can’t believe I screwed up. > "I'm human, and we all make mistakes. I can fix it."

To really make it work, practice positive self-talk every day — in the car, at your desk, before you go to bed or whenever you notice negative thoughts. It’s a great practice to teach kids, too! Share your tips in the comments below.

We would be wise to reclaim the practice of resting one day each week. Consider the benefits of concentrated rest for your body, mind, and soul:

Written by Joshua Becker

Healthier body.
We each get one life and one body to live it in. Therefore, we eat healthy, we exercise, and we watch our bad habits. But then we allow our schedules to fill up from morning to evening. Rest is as essential to our physical health as the water we drink and the air we breathe.

Less stress.
Stress is the perception that the situations we are facing are greater than the resources we have to deal with them—resources such as time, energy, ability, and help from others. Concentrated rest confronts stress in two ways. First, it reduces the demands of the situation. We have no demands on us as long as we have the ability to mentally let go of unfinished tasks. Secondly, rest reduces stress by increasing our resources, particularly energy.

Deeper relationships.
A day set aside each week for rest allows relationships with people to deepen and be strengthened. When we aren’t rushing off to work or soccer practice, we are able to enjoy each other’s company and a healthy conversation. And long talks prove to be far more effective in building community than short ones on the ride to the mall.

Opportunity for reflection.
Sometimes it is hard to see the forest through the trees. It is even more difficult to see the forest when we are running through the trees. Concentrated rest allows us to take a step back, to evaluate our lives, to identify our values, and determine if our life is being lived for them.

Mirror Cleaning Tips ✨

Mirrors, and bathroom mirrors, in particular, may accumulate sticky types of buildup. Your powder room vanity mirrors may collect emissions and debris from shower steam, water splashes, and personal care products, like hairspray, cologne, toothpaste, makeup, and more.

To clean away even the most challenging bathroom mirror residue, use these simple tips:

1️⃣ If the mirror is dusty, wipe off the dust with
a clean dust cloth.

2️⃣ Spot-clean water drops or toothpaste spots with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.

3️⃣ Spray on the glass cleaning product of your choice (of course it's ours, right?).
