Good rainy afternoon my detail friends!π
Its raining so your vehicle will be cleaner once it stops raining, right?
Nope! That's a common misconception that couldn't be further from the truth, let me explain why.
Rain here in the Houston area can be quite acidic at times thanks to the refineries nearby, and of course the air pollution. While you should keep that in mind, that should be the least of your worries! Its what the water carries that is the problem!π€¨
When it rains, the water that evaporates will leave water spots on your vehicle. It leaves behind dirt, dust, minerals, and other deposits on your paint that can leave unsightly water spots, even after thoroughly washing your vehicle! Plus the water that gets splashed on your paint after driving in it is filthy. You definitely don't want that on your paint!π
To prevent these marks or stains on your vehicle, wash your vehicle after it rains. You don't want those deposits adhering to your paint. It can make your vehicle look dirty, even if its just washed! The sooner you remove them after they form, the better!
Try to keep your vehicle out of direct sunlight after it rains, especially if you have darker colored paint as it heats up to crazy hot temps! The sun evaporates the water and in a sense bakes the deposits to your paint. If left for long enough, the water spots can adhere to your paint.π£
Lastly if the mineral deposits have already adhered to your paint, don't fret! Try some paint decontamination, if that doesn't remove the water spots, paint correction will be necessary.
