I had the pleasure of installing a Madimack Titan 140k btu heat/cool unit. It's a sexy beast. Very well-thought out and well-built appliance.
All metal, black with blue highlights. Good looking and sturdy machine that boasts 14.6 COP
Cons:
-It's big and heavy
-Hangs off the canned 3'x3' pad you can get at distro.
-Cost can get up quickly, especially with freight to the islands, but the price is still within range of some of the competition
Pros:
-Super Efficient with up to 14.6 COP
-Variable Speed Compressor
-Comes with its own app with lots of features
-Doesn't have a traditional contactor. The contactor mechanism is factory sealed, so it won't rust or get insects/geckos/eggs inside, causing failures
-Doesnt have a filter dryer. If there is no filter dryer, then the dilter dryer won't rust out, causing refrigerant leaks.
-Doesn't have a TXV. The txv is replaced by an EEV (Electromagnetic Expansion Valve) that's is all sealed in copper and won't rust.
-There's wire management clips and clamps all over the heat pump to safely and easily manage the wiring inside the unit.
This Madimack Titan seems to address a lot of the common failures we see here in hawaii. I'm excited to see the progression of this company and the progression of this appliance in our outdoor, near the beach, weather. Madimack is also hinting at a 20+ COP performing heat pump in the future. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for that.
