Hi, We need your help we will be collecting "Socks" from December-January 31, 2023, during my tenure of service in the GC area @ the largest Social Serve agency in our area I have learned as hard as we work, as much as we love what we do in service work, we always forget something....
* Did you know those experiencing homelessness do not have the option of changing socks everyday?
*Did you know that most often this same population struggles to acquire essential health care due to a lack of required documentation rendering them unable to get necessary meds leaving them open to infection, and it will exacerbate an already serious health issue?
* Did you know more often than not, these individuals are required to take more than 10 medications everyday? did you know they sit and sort their meds, (in the park, bus station...), on a cold rainy day in mid winter after being outside all night, or sleeping on a set of concrete step in the staircase of the LF building in downtown GSO?
My point is to touch your heart, the weather is changing ( we cannot control this), however, imagine what we take for granted (changing our Socks everyday), or what we forget ( how uncomfortable, or yucky it feels to be in the cold wet and your feet are wet), seems simple...

WE ARE HERE TO HELP, we are requesting donations of SOCKS, for adults (male & female: sizes 9-15), thick SOCKS, thin SOCKS, pretty SOCKS, ugly SOCKS, any kind of SOCKS you can come up with, think layers...

SENTIMENTS of APPRECIATION:
Good Morning,
I've been waiting to post regarding " A Servant's Heart's" feeding the homeless dinner, truth i am still a little overwhelmed by how absolutely Wonderfully detailed God's provided everything and I am saying down to the very smallest thing (all was necessary) what was amazing, is that God would once again use me, what was different however, was Vision & Purpose, I knew, so I moved " decent and in order, I walked it out" and God showed me, you see , for God to show you, and to see what He shows you are 2 different things, But when I thought about WHO, would be willing to serve, (for sure opposition arose, it was expected, But I was Girded)and Protected ( and I knew it), for sure, Pastor Rosa Jones, Vonda Milton, ( TSA, because it was there that I received the skills on how I should serve), Brenda Clay, Danielle Monroe you see these 4, made a conscience choice to believe in Vision (unawares), but they never hesitated to move, and I promise you ( the person given the Vision, is not easy to deal with 😌), but they never missed a step, and @ this time I am taking a moment to say Thank you to each and every person, agency, organization, church, of friend,
*Pastor Rosa Jones (Because, as my Spiritual mother she has never
left my side, and i promise you birthing me, was killing her (private joke)- God's House of Refuge and Deliverance
*Vonda Milton (my sister)-there is no-one who serves with more
Love, and when I tell you she gives from her heart, Amazing
*Bishop W. L. Washington (Powerhouse of deliverance Garden
Cathedral)- because it was the boldness of His Preaching that
changed my life, to this I've never met a Man who, believed,
moved, lived out, or preached with such conviction
*Danielle & Elizabeth Monroe ( approx. 10 yrs old)- when I tell you
this woman is (S), I take my (cape ) off to her, from the time I
met her, she has unbelievable gifts (her heart), skills
(education/work experiences), talents (hands on), beautiful,
thank you to her behind the scene helpers
*Sister Chandra Womack- (God's House of Refuge and
Deliverance)- Lady, you served well as always, exactly where
you are supposed to be dedicated and faithful
*Sister Brenda Clay (PHDGC Pres. Jubilee Choir), when I tell you
she's faithful, to everything she does (family, church work, and
yes God)
*PHDGC- taking a moment to say Thank you to my Churches Leadership-funny thing is, I never even realized how through the years I watch everything, I took notice of people like: Bishop D. Duren, Overseer R. Jones, Overseer Tommy Martin, Overseer D. Overseer Debra Sibley, Elder T. Davis, Keith Stewart, and others, ( who Served while Bleeding),
*Sister Lula, The Blessed Table food pantry, GUM, Mr. great dane, Mr. Ronnie, Groomtown United M**h. church, GSO parks and Rec., Ms. Ro (my mail-lady), Mr. Jarrett Clay ( because if he hadn't fixed my car), and Mr. Chad ( who shared storage space, so food would be fresh)
*Sharon Burgos, (when I move U move), for over 5 yrs this Lady has been faithful to serving the same population, in aa downtown city park @ 7:30 am Every Monday (you are a Champ)
*tiny house community dev. Inc- ( silent partners/with loud voices), Now Unbeknowst to most of GC-they serve every Saturday (for more years than most know), also in the downtown GSO park area- they allowed us to distributed flyers during their feeding times
**if there is anyone whose was not mentioned by name, it's only due to human frailty, you are not forgotten in my heart, your Labor of Love is not in vain, I want to say a very special thank you to Elizabeth Monroe, she a little lady, her parents shared they wanted her to just learn how there are soooo many way to show Love and concern for humankind, ( not color, race, religion, just people), Ms. Elizabeth, greeted with a smile, passed out menus, rolled utensils, and managed my phone (so I wouldn't lose it), So today, I am say to everyone, Watchout, Ms. Elizabeth Monroe, is a future (SuperWoman), she gonna change the world for sure
