As we continue our thoughtful efforts in downsizing, we have some recommendations for you to turn to. We try to stay away from the bigger companies and franchises to support small businesses in the area 🥰

Here are some tips (and opinions 😬) as you search for new services:

1. If you have had a cleaning within the past two months from us (some could go even longer), do not pay more for a “first” or “deep” cleaning. You’re good-we promise!

2. Do not go out and spend money on cleaning products that a Cleaner recommends until you know they are going to work out. You end up with a closet of cleaning supplies and end up with a Cleaner who brings their own. We know this from experience. 😉

3. Generally speaking, expect to pay anywhere from $.07-$.15 per square footage, depending on who you hire.

4. Hire someone who charges a flat rate and not an hourly fee. It can get ugly…and surprisingly expensive.

5. Communicate! Every new relationship needs a solid foundation. Give fair feedback after the first cleaning to ensure success at future cleanings. If you ever have a complaint be dismissed or challenged, get rid of the company! It should be all about YOU!

Announcement:
It is with pride and sadness that I notify our clients of our efforts to downsize. I have been open for four rewarding and challenging years with one consistent frustration: staffing. In an effort to continue providing quality and consistent cleaning services to many of our clients, we will be offering limited weekly and bi-weekly services* only until further notice. This has not been an easy decision to make and I truly will miss those that we have built a relationships with over the years. I would also like to acknowledge our manager, Amanda, and lead cleaner, Jen, for being supportive and hanging in there through thick and thin with me. And thank YOU! I have learned so much about myself and the communities through this process...and I know more about cleaning than I ever needed to know, haha. THANK YOU!

(*Please note that clients at The Station will not be affected at this time by downsizing regardless of frequency.)

Self care Sunday! Sometimes, you have to put the vacuum down and BREATHE (and eat carbs-they help! 🤣)

On a more serious note, it’s important to take time for yourself. We understand that life gets busy and chaotic, and well, too peopley—but a clear (and clean!) physical space can make for a clearer mind. Don’t know where to start? Small. Start small. A brief message to our amazing clients:

Times are tough—not just for you, but for us, too. We completely understand that no one likes rising costs. Whether you are a biweekly client, a weekly client or a monthly client, we provide the same services at each visit. That being said, we need our clients to show up the same way. Consistency is the key to avoiding increased costs for both of us. We wanted to review frequency to let you know our expectations and what our frequency terms actually mean:

Quarterly: A general cleaning once every 3 months (our least requested service)
Monthly: A general cleaning once every 4 weeks (Book ahead! We encourage it!)
Every three weeks: A general cleaning once every 3 weeks (our least favorite-you may get a lecture on why when booking 🤪)
Biweekly: A general cleaning once every 2 weeks (our most requested service)
Weekly: A general cleaning once a week

We discount based on increased frequency so it’s only fair for us to increase if you choose to go longer without a cleaning. We hope this makes sense and simply want you to understand the challenges we are facing today as a small business.
