There is an active lemonade stand on Great Oak Road in Hamilton, NJ, where some amazing kids are raising money to help sick children.

They will be out until approximately 7:00 PM today and are also offering delicious homemade brownies along with fresh lemonade.

🚨Carpenter Bee Houses🚨

Carpenter bee houses can be effective in helping collect and redirect some carpenter bee activity away from certain areas. However, they should never be installed directly onto a wooden structure such as a home, deck, shed, pergola, or wooden fascia. 🐝

Why⁉️
Because carpenter bee houses are designed to attract carpenter bees. Mounting them directly to wood structures may encourage increased activity nearby and can potentially lead to additional drilling and nesting into the surrounding wood over time.

It is also important to understand that carpenter bee houses are NOT a substitute for professional treatment, repairs, sealing, painting/staining, or preventative maintenance. Carpenter bee homes do not get to the source, treatment does.👍

Existing carpenter bee holes and galleries inside structural wood can continue to expand and may attract future generations if not properly addressed. 🪵

For best results, carpenter bee houses should be installed: 👀

• Away from the structure being protected
• On separate posts or non-structural mounting surfaces
• As part of an overall carpenter bee management plan

Some homeowners assume that once carpenter bees are being collected inside a carpenter bee house, no further damage is taking place to the structure. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Professional inspections and treatments are still recommended when active drilling, staining, sawdust, repeat nesting, or structural concerns are present.

🚨 HANTAVIRUS 🚨

While hantavirus remains extremely rare, our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones affected by this tragic situation. ❤️

With recent news regarding hantavirus, many people have understandable concerns. However, it’s important to keep the facts in perspective and rely on education — not fear.

According to the CDC, hantavirus remains extremely rare in the United States. Since tracking began in 1993, fewer than 900 laboratory-confirmed cases have been reported nationwide. Most cases historically occurred in western states, primarily west of the Mississippi River. (CDC)

The New Jersey Department of Health has stated that:
✔️ There are currently no confirmed hantavirus cases in New Jersey
✔️ There has never been a confirmed hantavirus case reported in New Jersey history
✔️ The overall risk to New Jersey residents remains extremely low (NJ.gov)

According to the CDC, hantavirus infection is most commonly linked to prolonged exposure to infected rodent droppings, urine, saliva, or nesting materials — especially in enclosed, poorly ventilated areas where contaminated particles may become airborne during sweeping or cleanup activities. (CDC)

The important thing to remember is:
✔️ Hantavirus is very rare
✔️ Simple rodent prevention and sanitation measures are highly effective
✔️ Addressing rodent activity early greatly reduces risk
