🚫 Let’s talk about “cleaning hacks” for a second…

If you’ve seen the one where you coat your tub in body wash and wrap it in plastic for 48 hours—yeah… we need to talk.

What’s actually happening has nothing to do with the product being “amazing.” It’s just dwell time. You could leave almost anything on a surface for two days and it’ll start breaking things down.

✨ Real talk from a house cleaner of nearly a decade:

You don’t need gimmicks—you need the right product for the type of buildup.

Here’s the breakdown:

🧼 Grease / body oils / everyday grime
→ Dish soap (Dawn is king)

🧪 Organic buildup / mildew
→ Hydrogen peroxide

⚡ Hard water / mineral buildup
→ CLR (not every clean—just when needed)

🧽 Stubborn residue
→ Scrub brush or careful use of a magic eraser (they’re abrasive!)

And no—you do NOT need to let anything sit for 48 hours.

Most of the time:
→ 5–15 minutes of dwell time
→ A little agitation
→ Rinse

Done.

🚨 Also: please stop thinking every cleaner works for everything.
Using the wrong product just wastes time and effort.

Have you “burped” your house lately? 🏠

It’s something many people don’t think about, but homes need fresh air too.

During the winter months, our houses stay closed up tight. Dust, moisture, cooking odors, and everyday air pollutants slowly build up inside.

One of the simplest ways to refresh your home is to “burp” it — open a few windows for 10–20 minutes and let fresh air circulate through the space.

It helps:

• clear out stale indoor air
• reduce trapped odors
• lower humidity buildup
• bring in fresh oxygen

Even on cooler spring days, a quick air exchange can make your home feel noticeably lighter and fresher.

Try opening windows on opposite sides of the house for a few minutes to create airflow.
