Because all I see are people living their lives. Parents, grandparents, students, nurses, mechanics, teachers, business owners… all just trying to make it through the day.

If I can make one part of that day a little easier by taking laundry off someone’s plate, then every mile is worth it.

The cutest set celebrating the 50th birthdays of some MSU roommates! I loved this so much, and to be asked to be a part of such a special celebration of these ladies who have stayed friends for long enough to celebrate their 50th birthdays together is EVERYTHING. I hope you all had the best time and laughed until your bellies hurt! 🥰💚🤍

Being an asthmatic can be hella rough in days like this.

Because freedom always deserves a fresh fold, I'm sudsing up with pride today ❤️💙🤍

A little history...on Jan 1, 1863, Ole Abe with his maybe possibly melungeon self gave us the Emancipation Proclamation. What's that you ask? It gave enslave folx their "freedom". So back off massa!

But SOME places in SOME states (cough cough I'm looking at Texas and a few others) decided not to actually TELL these enslaved folx so it was over two years later, on June 19, 1865, YES TWO YEARS after the Emancipation Proclamation, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally told they were free (now conspiracy theory there were other areas later but I digress...). That moment on June 19th, or Juneteenth, marked a powerful turning point in American history. It’s not just Black history...it’s everyone’s history, it's AMERICA'S history. 🇺🇸🕊️

So today, while I'm spinning out those stubborn bbq stains and fluffing towels with love, I'm also reflecting on the concepts of freedom, resilience, and joy. ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

Because here at Little Brown Lady Laundry, I don’t just care about clean clothes, I care about clean slates, bold futures, and celebrating every step we’ve taken and will take to build our communities.

Grad season is officially underway! 🫣
