It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, but behind the scenes, I’ve been making some much-needed changes, both in business and in life.
For nearly 6 years, I’ve worked almost every weekend. Building a business takes sacrifice, and for a long time, I believed that saying “yes” to every opportunity, every client, and every weekend was simply part of the process.
But lately, I’ve been learning that success shouldn’t require sacrificing every part of your life to maintain it.
For the past few weekends, I’ve actually been OFF. No rushing out the door. No packed cleaning schedule. Just intentional time with my family, making memories and being present. And I didn’t realize how much I needed that.
One of the harder lessons I’ve learned in business is that, no matter how dedicated you are, you are replaceable. A client can find another company. A contract can end. Business relationships can change. And while that can be disappointing after pouring so much of yourself into what you do, it has also put a lot into perspective for me.
My family can’t replace the time I missed with them.
So, as Maid to Perfection enters a new season, I’m choosing to build differently. I still care deeply about providing an amazing service and growing this company, but I’m also creating boundaries, protecting more of my personal time, and remembering why I started building in the first place.
Sometimes growth doesn’t look like doing more.
Sometimes it looks like finally realizing what deserves more of you. 🤍
