Out with the old… In with the new! 💡🚒

Another successful lighting upgrade by Marion Upfitter & Detail LLC.

We removed the outdated 120-volt scene light and installed a new 12-volt DC FRC Radiant Eco LED Scene Light. The upgrade included running a new fused 12-volt power circuit, removing the old wiring, and ensuring the new light is properly protected and ready for years of reliable service.

Now this apparatus has:

Water Tank Level Gauge Repair Completed

A customer reported that the water tank level gauge would go completely blank when the tank reached approximately 3/4 full. After troubleshooting, we verified the concern and traced the issue to a failed ground in the control module, along with a corroded tank level probe.

Our repair included:

* Diagnosing and repairing the failed ground in the control module
* Replacing the corroded tank level probe
* Testing the complete system to verify accurate water level indication throughout the entire tank

The gauge is now operating correctly and providing reliable tank level readings.

🚒🔧 Another Fire Apparatus Back in the Shop for Diagnostics!

Today we diagnosed an auxiliary generator issue on one of our customer’s fire engines. During testing, we found the fuel pump had failed and the fuel supply line was clogged, preventing proper fuel delivery to the generator.

A new fuel pump was installed, the clogged fuel line was cleared, and proper fuel delivery was restored. While the generator is still experiencing additional issues, we’ve eliminated the fuel system as the cause and can continue diagnosing the next step.

⚡️ Behind the Scenes at Marion Upfitter & Detail LLC ⚡️

Not every repair is visible from the outside. This is the inside of a Kussmaul charging system that came in with a failed circuit board. Based on the damage and timing, we believe the failure was likely caused by a recent electrical storm or power surge.

After diagnosing the issue, we were able to replace the damaged board and get the charging system back up and running, saving the department from having to replace the entire unit.

Whether it’s emergency lighting, radios, charging systems, or electrical troubleshooting, we’re committed to finding the problem and providing a cost-effective solution whenever possible.

🚒 Kingwood Fire Department – Tanker 5 Update

Spent the day at Kingwood Fire Department getting the Firecom intercom system settings finalized and tested. We also installed a new 20-amp Kussmaul Auto Eject, ensuring reliable shoreline power connection and automatic disconnect when the apparatus responds.

Additional work included removing unwanted equipment and miscellaneous items from Tanker 5 to clean up and streamline the apparatus.

A special thank you to Chief 5 and Deputy Chief 5 for assisting with testing the intercom system and helping us verify proper operation during a road test. It’s always great working with departments that take the time to ensure everything is functioning exactly as intended.
