Many parents work hard to turn their lives around after their children are removed. Sometimes, reunification is not the safest option for the child.

Once the courts decide that family reunification is no longer an option, the parents’ rights are terminated (TPR) and the courts change the goal from reunification over to adoption.

An estimated 49% of youth in care will be reunified with their family.
