Space: the final frontier.

These are the voyages of the Sewer Rats.

Our continuing mission: to explore strange new pipes, to seek out stubborn clogs and mysterious backups, and to boldly go where most people definitely do not want to go.

This Star Trek Day, we salute everyone willing to venture into the unknown, whether that’s deep space or 100 feet down a sewer line.

Got a plumbing or drain problem that feels like it came from another galaxy? Give Ron the Sewer Rat a call at (612) 389-9333.

Live long and prosper, Twin Cities.

Labor Day AND National Beer Lover’s Day on the same day?

Now that’s some solid scheduling.

After a long summer of hard work, we can appreciate the idea of kicking back, firing up the grill, and enjoying a cold one.

Whatever you’re drinking, enjoy it responsibly, and remember, beer goes in the glass, not down the drain.

Happy National Beer Lover’s Day from the Sewer Rats!

Happy Labor Day from Ron the Sewer Rat!

Today we’re celebrating the people who roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and keep things running, including our own hardworking team of plumbers, drain technicians, CSRs, and everyone behind the scenes.

We appreciate everything our team does for our customers and the Twin Cities community.

Enjoy the long weekend, you’ve earned it.

Some stories are better left unread.

Especially the ones our sewer cameras find.

Roots. Cracks. Grease buildup. Mystery objects that raise more questions than answers.

For National Read a Book Day, we recommend finding a comfortable chair, grabbing a good book, and leaving the sewer line reading to us.

We’ve been getting to the bottom of Twin Cities sewer stories since 1972.

Saturday, September 5 is National Tailgating Day, and around here, we know a thing or two about getting ready for game day.

Fire up the grill, break out the lawn chairs, wear your team colors, and enjoy one of the best parts of football season, the food and fun before kickoff.

Whether you're cheering for the Gophers, Vikings, your favorite college team, or just showing up for the brats, we hope your tailgate is a good one.

And remember, save the grease for the grill, not the kitchen drain.

Happy National Tailgating Day from the Sewer Rats!

STORY FROM THE FIELD: ABOVE AND BEYOND

Sometimes clearing a kitchen sink clog means taking a different approach. Sometimes it means taking that approach all the way to the roof.

One of our drain technicians was recently called out for a stubborn kitchen sink clog. When he couldn’t get the clog cleared through the usual access point, he got creative.

He filled the tubs with water to add some extra pressure to the drain system, headed up to the roof, and ran his drain cleaning cable down through the plumbing vent.

The combination worked, and the clog was cleared.

We talk a lot about doing whatever we can to solve the problem for our customers. This one took that pretty literally.

Talk about going ABOVE and beyond.

Apparently managing the office isn’t enough. Shawn has to manage the lanes, too.

Today is Bowling League Day, so we’re giving a shoutout to our Office Manager, Shawn, one of the avid bowlers here at Ron the Sewer Rat.

When he’s not helping keep the Sewer Rats organized and moving in the right direction, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find him at the lanes trying to knock down all 10.

And yes, that RTSR bowling shirt is absolutely part of the uniform.

Happy Bowling League Day to Shawn and all the other league bowlers out there. May your strikes be plentiful and your gutter balls conveniently forgotten.

Something feels different today…

Oh, right. It’s September.

Yes, we know September actually started yesterday. Apparently our social media person was still mentally enjoying the last few hours of August.

So, one day late, but with plenty of enthusiasm:

HELLO, SEPTEMBER!

Fall is around the corner, football is back, the State Fair is wrapping up, and somehow we’re already staring down the final four months of 2026.

Here’s to a great September, even if we showed up fashionably late.
