Hey everyone!
I know I’m not the best at keeping my social media pages updated and I’m hoping to start keeping up better! But for now, I just wanted to send out a huge thank you.
“Your clients are not your friends.” This is one of the cardinal rules of owning a small business and is one of the most common bits of advice you’ll see from content creators on the topic. I just don’t follow it. I can’t. The people who invite me into their homes and trust me with their sanctuaries have been overwhelmingly kind, generous, wonderful people, and I can’t help but to get attached. Maybe it’ll bite me in the butt one day. If it does, the friendships I’ve gained will still be worth it.
So. To my incredible clients who have become friends over time. To everyone who follows my business and cheers me on. To everyone who comments on community posts to recommend me to people looking for an excellent/detailed cleaner. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
In the last couple of days I’ve seen some of the sweetest comments from clients (previous and current) who not only trust my work enough to refer me to people, but have also made a point to mention my character. It means so much to me to know that the people I work with see the human behind the business and how much I truly care about what I do! Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Some of you know that my 3 year old recently started preschool. Until now, he’s never spent much time with groups of other kids. It’s been a beautiful experience and a privilege to watch him grow and learn so much! BUT, as any parent knows, with these new experiences has come some gnarly illnesses. 🤒 Due to fever rules he’s missed 7 school days in three weeks, and we’ve all been fighting one bug after another.
The kindness and flexibility my clients have shown me when I’ve needed to reschedule or arrive late has been more than I could’ve hoped for. I know how much a last minute change can suck and I just really appreciate all of you for hanging in with me through this transition. So many of you have asked how he’s doing, checked on him (and me), and offered advice and help, and I can’t thank you enough. I hope you all know that it goes both ways and I will always be as flexible as I can if and when you need to make a schedule change.
As my kiddo (and his immune system) gets adjusted, I hope and expect that schedule interruptions will become fewer and much less frequent. My little company has grown a ton this summer (kind of like my monstera, which is thriving against all odds thanks to advice from a sweet client/friend). Exciting things are ahead. I can’t wait to share with you all!
Here’s to finishing out the summer with minimal stress, maximum AC, and (hopefully) NO measles or p**p parasites. 😷 Stay safe, stay cool, and stay healthy, friends! 🖤
