Normally, I’m out of a home before the 3–4 PM check-in time, but every once in a while I’m running a few minutes behind and get the chance to meet the guests coming in.
And honestly, those moments can be some of the best parts of this job.
Sometimes they’ll tell you their life story, ask about the property, or just stand there and talk with you about cleaning and what you do. It’s humbling and a good reminder that this business is about so much more than just cleaning a house and rushing out the door.
At the end of the day, it’s the people you meet and the relationships you build with guests AND homeowners, that make it all worth it.
Sometimes taking two extra minutes to have a conversation, interact with someone, and simply be a person goes a long way. Those little connections are what make this job special. 🤍
