It’s official. Today we are 20 years old. As I reflect I can’t help but choke back tears of gratitude and thanks for God’s provision. I started this journey on my knees telling God that I didn’t know the first thing about a cleaning business and asking Him how we could bring in enough money quickly to pay the bills. God literally interrupted my whine and spoke in my spirit, “You’re looking at what you can do. You’re not looking at what I can do!” The next business day I was downtown registering our name and filling out the paperwork. We ran a $35 ad in the local paper and gained 5 residential accounts. One of those referred us to Anderson Concrete where we got our first big break. We still serve them.
I chose the name Jubilee based on Leviticus 25. It basically means freedom, provision, second chances and wrongs being made right. It has lived up to its name, not just in our family, but for many others along the way. I could tell you story after story about how God has provided help in amazing ways through many wonderful people. Or how the new account came just in time, or the check that we needed arrived in the PO BOX early. God has brought us so many people over the years that have blessed us and joined this journey with us, even if for a short time. I wish I had taken more pictures over the years, but with this post are some of our recent and current team members. Thank you to everyone who has ever been part of our team. Tab and I appreciate you and are thankful for you! Thank you mom (Lois), Porter, Nikki and Doug that came to our rescue over and over and have been listening ears and encouragement. To the supervisors, inspectors and trainers. Thank you! Thank you to every customer that gave us the opportunity to serve you. We count it a privilege. Thank you to Penny that early on in this journey opened your books and showed us the ropes, sharing tips and secrets. (I’ve mentored at least 5 since, paying it forward.) To Steve that gave us our first training on how to strip floors and Jeff (Vicki Eddy Webb) that continued the process. To so many others that came along side us and made us better! You know who you are! To my husband Greg that’s put up with my cell phone going off at all hours, late nights, late dinners and my times of frustration. You’re such a blessing to me. To Tab Even starting at 10 years old you had an eye for detail and showed yourself a leader. It’s exciting to see the entrepreneurial spirit in you as you see life through dreams and visions. I would not have wanted to take this journey without you. I would have given up long ago. Thank you for always being there. Thank you for being my business partner as well as an amazing son. I love you! God, thank you for trusting me with this company and for showing me day by day we have not been alone. Your hand has been in this and on us from day one. To You be the glory for all that’s been accomplished. Thank you! To those that have read this thank you. To those that didn’t make it this far that’s okay. This one was for me. -Michele Malenky
