It's always funny showing homeowners these entry points after we've found them.
The gap in this photo was being used by pine squirrels to get into a place they definitely shouldn't be. Most people would never notice it, even if they were looking right at it. Then a squirrel comes along and somehow decides, "Yep, that'll work."
You can walk around a house a hundred times and never think twice about a spot like this. Meanwhile, they've been using it as their own private entrance for who knows how long.
We've found squirrels getting in through places that looked way too small, and somehow they always seem to prove us wrong.
They don't need much. Just one little opening and a reason to check it out.
