It's always funny showing homeowners these entry points after we've found them.

The gap in this photo was being used by pine squirrels to get into a place they definitely shouldn't be. Most people would never notice it, even if they were looking right at it. Then a squirrel comes along and somehow decides, "Yep, that'll work."

You can walk around a house a hundred times and never think twice about a spot like this. Meanwhile, they've been using it as their own private entrance for who knows how long.

We've found squirrels getting in through places that looked way too small, and somehow they always seem to prove us wrong.

They don't need much. Just one little opening and a reason to check it out.

BuggDaddy's got a new guy on the team!

He’s already gotten a pretty quick introduction to the job too. Attics, crawlspaces, ladders in the rain, and plenty of long looks under backyard decks. Pretty standard stuff around here.

He’s been fitting in great so far and we’re glad to have the extra help heading into the busy season. It’s always nice adding somebody who’s easy to work with and willing to jump right into things. So, we're glad to introduce our newest technician, John Ruf!

Every now and then we come across a full bird setup tucked away in an attic. Nest, bits of insulation pulled into place, sometimes even a few noisy little tenants.

Birds are surprisingly good at finding small openings and turning them into a safe place to settle in. Once they get comfortable, they can make quite a bit of noise for something you never actually see.

We handle these situations carefully and with respect for the animals, while still making sure your home is taken care of and protected moving forward.

Raccoons are pretty resourceful animals. They’ve got strong hands, can open simple latches, and will remember food sources for a long time, which is part of why they end up back in the same places over and over.

This time of year, it’s common for them to look for quiet, sheltered spots to nest, and attics tend to check all the boxes. Once they’re in, they can tear up insulation and make themselves at home pretty quickly.

Carpenter ants are experts at going unnoticed until it’s too late. They rarely just “wander in”; they enter through tiny cracks, gaps in siding, or damaged wood, and can establish colonies inside walls or under floors. Swarmers, like those you see here (crawling through the vents in the floors) are a sign a colony is nearby and actively reproducing.

Bedbugs Can Hide Anywhere.

Bedbugs are notorious for hiding in places you wouldn’t expect, like the seams of your truck’s seat, the upholstery, or even in small cracks around the cabin. They can hitch a ride in luggage, clothing, or equipment and multiply quickly, turning a small issue into a major problem.

If you notice any signs of bedbugs, don’t wait. Take action. It’s easier to handle an early infestation than a full-blown one.
