With the below freezing temps please make sure that all of your pumps including waterfall pumps are running 24/7.

With the extreme cold temps and dry air it is causing the water to evaporate quickly. Make sure your water level is at mid tile to keep the pumps running.

In the event that your pump fails or you lose power follow these steps to prevent damage.

1. Turn off the equipment main breaker. 2 Open the air relief valve on the filter. Remove plugs and lids from pumps, motors, filters, heaters and chlorinators. 3. Put all of the removed plugs in the pump basket and put the lid on the pump loosely. When warmer weather returns, we will come out and replace all plugs and lids.
If you have old blankets or towels lay them over the pipes and equipment that are exposed. Make sure the blanket or towels are not too close to the pump motors. This helps to protect the equipment from the weather.

Good afternoon,

We have some extremely cold temps heading this way today-Tuesday. It’s not supposed to get above freezing until Thursday or Friday. We want to tell you some things you need to be watching for. First, all of your pumps including the waterfall pumps need to be running 24/7. Make sure to periodically check that the pumps are still running. With the extreme cold temps and dry air it is causing the water to evaporate quickly. Make sure your water level is at mid tile to keep the pumps running. If you have an old blanket or extra towels lay them over the pipes and equipment that are exposed. Make sure the blanket or towels are not too close to the pump motors. This will help protect the equipment from the weather. It is not necessary to turn your heaters on at this time.

If in the event we lose power. Open the air relief valve on the filter. Remove plugs and lids from pumps, motors, filters, heaters and chlorinators. Put all of the removed plugs in the pump basket and put the lid on the pump loosely. When warm weather returns, we will come out and replace all plugs and lids. For those with equipment that is below grade (pool is higher than equipment) shut off the valves so water isn't continually pouring out.

If you do not have freeze guard built in on your system, make sure your pump is on. If you do have a freeze guard make sure everything thing is running including your waterfall pumps.
