Nothing beats a clean car!

Did a deep clean on the Forester today which was much needed. Up next is the 4Runner. It’s crazy how dirty a daily gets in such little time.

If you’re a car enthusiast in the DFW area or find yourself passing through, you definitely have to check out Derby at The Shop in Dallas!

An upscale car club that features a state of the art restaurant, this place has something every car enthusiast will like. A great atmosphere with large glass windows peering out into a shop full of some of the coolest cars you’ll find.

From rare motorcycles to classic muscle, expensive exotics to collectable JDM beauties - this place truly has a little something for all tastes

An upscale food menu with some great cocktails to go along with it is a great bonus to have in a garage!

The shop features a full service bay, a detailing shop, state of the art storage and even a barber shop for all of its members

A wonderful hidden gem that I believe is worth checking out when you’re in the area!

hile on vacation to Alaska, I ran into a few local rides

Although, I was only able to snap a few pictures sadly

I’m always on the lookout but I wasn’t expecting to see these so they caught me a little off guard

A rather clean S14 and a WRX were the only two I could grab my phone quick enough to snap a picture of

One thing that this quickly made me aware of is that the Alaskan car scene is alive and well!

An area that I didn’t expect and one that I can imagine may be difficult to get parts or support in

This car was the beginning of what would become my biggest passion

Back in 2012 I found this BMW 325is on Craigslist for $350. It wasn’t in the best shape, it had a blown motor, some rust and the interior was falling apart.

I thought to myself that there’s no way I could make it any worse than it was, so what the heck, I’ll buy it and try to teach myself how to work on it.

I trailered it to my parent’s house and parked it on the gravel. Every night I would get home from work and stay out there for hours just taking things apart and trying to figure out how this big puzzle was put together.

Luckily, I had some friends who took the time to teach me things and even spent time wrenching on the car itself.

Now here is where the flame was lit inside of me. I started working in a shop because of this car and ultimately enrolled in school for automotive technologies to learn as much as I possibly could.

I found myself entrenched in the automotive industry. I worked full time at the shop, went to school at night and spent every bit of free time either wrenching on my car or hanging out at a friend’s shop.

I quickly realized something, the satisfaction of fixing or building something with your own hands became addicting.

Ultimately, with a ton of help from some friends, we got a new motor in it and got the car back to running and driving. Shortly after this I ended up selling the car.

This car was more than a project to me though, this is what kick started my love and passion for modifying cars. It brought me into the car community which I have made so many amazing friends and for that I cannot be more thankful.

Moral of the story, it does not matter where you start or how much prior knowledge you have. If you love something and you’re willing to put the time and effort into it, you will get to where you want to be

I wouldn’t trade my beginnings for the world!

Would you daily this Lotus Emira?

Parking Lot Find of the week!

Mad respect for the owner of this Emira, they daily this car and have put a good amount of miles on it

This specific Emira features the supercharged 3.5L V6, packing 400hp with a 0-60 in 4.2s and a manual 6-speed manual transmission

I love seeing owners who aren’t afraid to drive cars like this in the elements instead of letting it sit in the garage for its whole life

If you’ve never been to a Gridlife event then you’re truly missing out on one of the best!

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to attend multiple and I can’t say enough good things about it.

From drift trains to time attack, show cars to concerts, it truly submerges you in how car culture and the car community is meant to be.

Whether you’re new into the scene or a long time vet, it has something for everyone to enjoy.

Camping at the track for the weekend and waking up to the sound of high horsepower revs and smell of burning tires, it’s pure bliss

You can’t help but to leave motivated to get to work on that project car you have chilling in your garage up on jack stands

My first time attending happened to be only the second year in existence and I found myself addicted to the atmosphere

I’ve made lots of friends, chatted about my builds with strangers and listened to even more explain their own in full detail.

The way people light up when asked about their builds never gets old. People are passionate about what they build with their hands and rightfully so
