First things first.. a little kitchen table yap.
Honestly, I’ve never met a stick of butter that I didn’t like. Butter makes everything better, unless you’re unfortunately dairy free, then I’m so sorry for your loss.
My obsession with butter found me at the ripe young age of 2.
My mama likes to tell the story, and tells it better, of when she lost me, really of where she found me.
Your girl is a wanderer.. a runner… a go where the wind takes me type. My poor mama, bless her. She did everything she could to keep me alive and I did everything to test that theory.
One particular afternoon, I had gone missing. My mama search every inch of the house, flipping couches, bottom of laundry baskets, in the dryer, the usual hide outs. She checked the 15 locks on the door to be sure I didn’t Houdini myself through the wood. They were locked. Windows were shut. Frantic, she goes to the kitchen to call the police, which was becoming embarrassingly common, when she noticed the fridge cracked slightly.
Noooo… there’s no way… she couldn’t fit in the fridge….
Sho’nuff … I WAS IN THE REFRIGERATOR. EATING A STICK OF BUTTER.
True story, I kidd you not. My mama will back it up. 🙃

Anyways… short story long, and somewhat irrelevant to this photo, I made this dairy free pumpkin blondie with maple pecan icing, for a sweet friend of my daughters who is off dairy right now, and yall…it ain’t bad, it’s actually kind great.
Will I stop eating butter… probably not, but it was a nice change in recipes and a chance to make something special for someone else.

Listen yall, this actually lazy and incredibly wonky Susan has me wanting to crash out 💥 Like, I’m literally just a gir trying to create content with what I have in hand, Lord forbid a girl want it to look smooth.
Anyways yall… the vanilla bean paste has finally matured, and I’ll be sharing her next weekend with friends. Say hello to batch number 001. I bet yall thought we only made baked items 😉
