Did you know that Sue Bennett College in London, KY was originally established in 1897 as a school to educate kids in the mountains and was in operation for 100 years? It initially served as an elementary school, and in 1901, added high school classes. Years later, it became a junior college, and was renamed what most of us now know it as: "Sue Bennett College"; in 1932, it received accreditation. Four sports teams were added in 1991, but due to lack of anticipated new enrollment, and a struggle with finances, the college ultimately lost its accreditation and license to teach in 1997.

Not so fun fact: I've heard that the football team lost every game that was played during its five seasons from 1993-1997. Sounds like a bad time to be a Dragon, huh? 🫣

But I still love that we have this rich piece of 100-year-old history in the heart of our hometown!
