I’ve been quiet on here the last several days, and I wanted to take a moment to share an update. 🩷
After the floods, I offered my laundry services for free to families who were affected. Over the course of 4 days, I washed approximately 24 loads of laundry. Many of which needed multiple washes, scrubbing, soaking, and all the works. Some of those loads even belonged to members of our own family who were affected by the floods.
There was definitely a lot of learning, patience, and a few moments of “what did I get myself into?” But, I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to help in even the smallest way.
I know there are much larger services doing incredible things for our community, but I’m so proud to be a tiny part of the rebuilding process for those that I was able to help. 🩷
I also want to take a moment to thank to my mom, who donated detergent, sanitizer, and OxiClean to help me get through all of the laundry! I also received monetary donations from our sweet neighbor, as well as our girls’ dance studio, Rita's Dixon Dance and Gymnastics Studio. Because of their generosity, I was able to send every family home with a bottle of Tide detergent as well as a bottle of Lysol Laundry Sanitizer when I returned their clean laundry.
I was also able to donate some of those same supplies to a local laundromat that has been turning out countless loads of laundry for flood victims for free. It means so much to be able to take what was given to me and pass it along to someone else who is helping, too. 🩷
To those who trusted me with your laundry — thank you. I know these weren’t just bags of clothes. They were pieces of your lives, and I’m honored that you trusted me to help. 🩷🧺
