Wow, over 7,100 lbs. collected from alleys so far, in only four attempts. If we keep this up all summer we will approach 80 to 100,000 lbs. by the end of the year.

This past Saturday, May 1, we had a great morning with 16 volunteers picking up trash on the residential streets of Franklinton. Thanks to COSI Columbus' Dynamic Hands-On Science Center!, Columbus Franklinton Lions Club, Chimento Agency and some of our next door neighbors for helping!

Hey Litter Leaguers,
I've heard back from a couple of teams and would like to keep the momentum rolling. To get us started we are holding a clean-up this coming Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Franklinton Square Shopping Plaza.

Bring your grabber, bucket and favorite pair of work gloves to join in. Each person that participates will get their name put into a drawing for a large, one-topping, pizza from Grandma's Pizza on W Broad St.

Hey Everyone,
We know it's been a while since you've heard from this page, but for several reasons we want to reactivate this program.

Trash has always been an issue for this community, but it is particularly bad in Franklinton right now, for many reasons.

Franklinton Board of Trade will be working on initiatives this year to address it, but we also want individuals to have what they need to address their little corner of the neighborhood. If we all keep our areas clean and tend to our own streets, it begins to make a big difference.

Do we have teams out there that want to do a 2021 season?!

Good Morning Franklinton Litter League!
I hope this finds all of you well and enjoying the last few weeks of 2019!

As we communicated in messaging earlier this year, 2019 marked the last innings of play for Franklinton Litter League. Many of you continued to report your stats through us and we are very pleased with the level of participation and enthusiasm of all the teams. Going forward though, we are encouraging all of you to register your team, existing or new, with the city-wide initiative, Columbus Litter League (CLL). As you know, because you were part of it, Franklinton borrowed this Linden neighborhood's original idea and started a successful program in 2017, which continued through 2018 and 2019. However, with the roll out of the Columbus city-wide program we think it will be better to have everyone playing on the same field, with the same rules and the same goals.

The Franklinton Board of Trade is very proud of what we accomplished as a community. We collected in the vicinity of 4,000 bags during those three seasons and made great progress promoting the importance of a clean community, along with the personal responsibility and initiative to make it so. The Columbus program is enjoying a fantastic partnership with the Columbus Clippers and other sponsors so that this wider effort has great appeal to all corners of our communities; The Franklinton Board of Trade want to support this wider initiative!

Visit https://www.columbus.gov/Templates/Detail.aspx?id=2147509216 to find all the information you'll need to establish your CLL team and be ready for the 2020 season. Of course, as always, Columbus has unpredictable weather at all times of the year, so as long as it's not blistering cold and snowy, we can get out there to "Pick it Up!" anytime!

I was happy to spend an hour yesterday afternoon talking with these bright young ladies from Gladden Community House about litter and why it's important to "Pick it Up!" We also picked up two 30 gallon bags full of trash within that same hour.
