I try to keep this account strictly business-related but this moment doesn't give me the luxury of leaving anything up to ambiguity.
What we are witnessing in our country right now isn't new. We are experiencing the symptoms of a society that was built on the systemic abuses of marginalized people for centuries. It is just our first experience as white people having that machine directed at us.
As a birth and postpartum doula I was a witness to the many abuses and forms of systemic violence, oppression, and racial microaggressions a person would experience in *their most vulnerable moments*.
Kidnapping families and children in churches, schools, daycares, and hospitals are flagrant violations of international law and specifically target *vulnerable* people. It is despicable and must stop now.
