Assuming you've gotten through our list of 10 things to do during self quarantine, here's a list of mind-numbing tasks to keep you occupied for at least an hour or two...
We're all itching to disinfect everything we see...
There are the obvious surfaces: doorknobs, light switches, faucets, etc. But there are several areas frequently overlooked that can be extremely important. Peek through the list to see if you've caught these areas yet!
-Table/floor lamp switches - just as important as all other light switches!
-Window blinds open and closing cords
-Car doors and trunk handles, steering wheels/gear shift - and maybe every other square inch of your car, too.
-Electric toothbrushes and base - cleaning something you clean something else with sometimes doesn't cross our minds.
-Soap dispensers - cleaning another thing we clean with.
-Coffee pot handle - because everybody should be able to have their coffee in peace.
-Fridge/microwave handles - YES.
-Bar stools - the alcohol youâre drinking while sitting on these wonât protect you. Sorry.
-Makeup bags
-BOTTOM OF YOUR SHOES
-Cabinet hardware - if you're eating/drinking/cooking, your fingers are touching these surfaces every day.
-Wearing glasses - they are literally touching your face all day. If they're not disinfected, stop reading and do it right now.
-You know those areas on the wall with built-up oils from your hands because you always touch them as you turn a corner? Do those too.
Clorox wipes should not damage any of these surfaces, but PLEASE test a small area first. If you have no wipes, use the ASPCA bleach dilution chart for disinfection. And check out the Clorox website for their lists of products that actually disinfect and how to properly use their products. Some of them, surprisingly, do NOT disinfect. Also, be sure you're not using expired bleach. Fun fact: Expired bleach is useless for disinfection.
Comment any special surfaces you can think of!
