Removed popcorn ceilings again today!!! Believe it or not, I would rather remove them and then paint, rather than try to paint the popcorn. It a little messy at first, however the finished product is awesome.

Helpful Hint: When using bleach to kill mold and mildew, indoors or outdoors, be sure to rinse really well. Bleech is a very oily chemical and will cause the primer and or paint to peel.

Helpful Hint: Not all Latex Caulking is created equal and is a porduct or material that is worth buying the best. A couple of dollars more per tube could save you hundreds or thousands in the long run. Brush Masters recommends Max Flex from Sherwin Williams. Max Flex is all we use inside and out.

Helpful hint: Before staining your new deck floor (when using treated lumber) be sure to lightly sand the deck boards before applying the stain. Otherwise, you will not get the proper pe*******on for your stain to work properly. It's also very important that you allow the deck materials to weather and dryout some before starting the staing process.

All Sherwin Williams requires is a $75.00 deposite that will be applied as a credit towards your materials. They do this to insure that you purchase your materials from the Matthews store. When replacing rotten or damaged wood brick moulding around doors and windows, consider replacing it with vynl brick moulding. The cost is a little more, however, you will never have to worry about it rotting again. It is paintable and holds up well against sun, heat and cold.

Did you know: Sherwin Williams Duration exterior paint is a Low Temp 36 degrees. As long as the substrate is 36 degrees you can paint. Here in Charlotte we are not faced with much weather like this, however, it is nice that Sherwin Williams offeres this product.
