It is with broken hearts that we share the loss of a very special member of the Flyaway Geese family.
Moss passed away this past week after a battle with lymphoma. He was far too young, and we were not ready to say goodbye.
Moss was so much more than a working dog. He was a devoted partner, a trusted teammate, and a beautiful soul whose presence left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He worked alongside his handler and owner, Emily, here in Virginia, and the bond they shared was something truly special. They trusted one another, understood one another, and faced every day as a team.
We feel incredibly blessed that Emily allowed Moss to become part of our Flyaway family. We are grateful for every property he worked, every challenge he met, and every memory he gave us. His time here was much too short, but the life he lived mattered—and he will always be remembered as one of our own.
Our hearts are especially with Emily. We know there are no words that can ease the loss of a partner and friend who stood faithfully beside you day after day. We are praying for her and surrounding her with all the love and support we can as she grieves this tremendous loss.
Run free, sweet Moss. No more sickness. No more pain. Just open fields, cool water, all the geese and sheep you could ever want, and all the room in the world to run.
You were deeply loved, you served faithfully, and you will never be forgotten. 🖤🤍
