I just saw this in a group I'm in and thought I would share! I know many people with these old whirlpool bath tubs let me know if this works for you!
From Kristina G.:
Got to give a shout out to the gal that lightened her tub with peroxide hair developer. I gave it a try and the results were shocking. I did a second round to lighten it even more, it's still not done cooking yet. I don't have uv lights to expedite it, just relying on sun.
I can tell you trying to use Saran wrap with gloves on is a pain in the butt. However you definitely don't want to get this stuff on your skin you'll know if you do. 😉
****Edit to add:
For those asking, can't take credit someone in here did it first.
But I got a gallon of 40 developer for like $18, I only used 1/4 to do it twice.
Taped over the fixtures, spread it on thick with paint brush and gloves. Trust me you'll know if it gets on you, it does burn.
Cover as you go with Saran wrap, not easy to do with gloves lol
Let sit a few days if you have sunlight it speeds it up. Uv lights will help, I didn't have those.
