These two recent home sales were built a century apart. Homes from different eras come with different listing preparation, maintenance needs, inspection considerations, and questions to ask. Knowing these distinctions helps me guide my clients well, no matter what kind of home they are buying or selling.

I met my sweet clients at Coat Check Coffee at the Athenaeum back in January - the appropriate backdrop for a couple who loves everything historic. Engaged and eager to find a forever home to start their life together, they knew exactly what they wanted. We saw a few, and we waited for the one that had it all. A conversation with my colleague Chanda led us to an Old Northside Victorian that never hit the market. When it comes to home styles, do you have a "type?"

Mine is for sure a colonial - it's the home I live in, and the one that always catches my eye. I love the symmetry, the classic lines, and the functional layout. So naturally, when these two listings landed with Maywright Property Co., I had to share them! One is a colonial through and through. The other...well, there's been some debate - Colonial, Prairie, German Revival? But I suspect it was built by the same builder as my own home, which makes it feel like family regardless of what you call it. 😊
