Here’s what actually goes into a ceramic coating at CF Detailing.
This C7 Corvette didn’t just get washed and coated. There’s a lot that happens before we ever put a coating on the paint.
First — the wash & decon.
We get the paint completely clean and remove all the contamination that’s built up on the surface.
Then we inspect the paint.
Under proper lighting, we look for swirls, scratches, water spots, and anything else that needs attention.
Next comes the paint correction.
This is where we bring the finish back to life. The coating is going over this paint, so we want the paint looking its best before we seal it in.
Then we prep for coating.
The paint gets wiped down and completely stripped of polishing oils and residue. We go panel by panel to make sure nothing gets missed.
Now we coat it.
The ceramic is applied one section at a time, leveled by hand, and checked under the lights for any high spots.
Then we let it cure.
Once everything is finished, the Corvette stays inside while the coating begins to set up.
And finally… the part everyone wants to see.
That deep gloss, that slick finish, and a surface that’s going to be much easier to maintain.
The coating is only as good as the work that happens before it.
