Went out this morning and put flowers on graves. This is another one of my projects. Going to tackle this side next.

The first four headstones I cleaned 3 years ago. As you can see, dirt and lichen will start to build up even after a couple of years. The fourth headstone probably has over 100 years of ick on it. All the after photos are still wet. Had to get grandma and her broken arm home. I also included pictures of the really old headstone I’m working on. It’s pretty fragile and I need my special brushes for it. I don’t typically clean these for people, for fear of damaging them. Plus, I’ve been working on this for well over a year. (It’s my great great great grandparents infant child).

I have a busy week coming up in preparation for Memorial Day. But there’s always time for a cemetery road trip! Yesterday we explored Spring Grove Cemetery in Delavan, where many circus folk are buried. Very old with a lot of history. Will be going back!

My personal project. My great great great grandparents. John Edgerton enlisted in the army at age 13 to fight in the Civil War. He mustered out at age 18, at the end of the war. Union soldier.
