We received some disappointing news earlier this week. Due to the spread of Covid19, the governor of Michigan has extended the shutdown of non-essential business through April 30. We were hopeful of receiving an exemption for landscape maintenance on this extension since Michigan is currently the only state in the country that is not allowing landscape maintenance to continue, but this was not the case.

If you haven't received your round 1 application yet, we are planning on taking care of it during the first 3 weeks of May. While this is later than normal, we have confidence that we will be able to still maintain adequate control for this year. You may also put down your own spring fertilizer and crabgrass preventer during the next few days if you wish to bridge the gap until we can arrive in May.

We plan to shift the schedule back. Depending on how the lawns are responding to the loss of nutrient and what progam you are on, there is a possibility that we will skip an application later in the year. If you prepaid for an application that was skipped, you will be receiving a refund for that missed application.

Our perimeter pest service falls under extermination work and is exempted from the shutdown. If you are scheduled for that program, we will be able to provide perimeter pest service during this period.

We hope everyone stays safe over the weeks and months to come. We would also like to thank our amazing customers for your support and understanding during this challenging time. The support we have been receiving from you over the past few weeks has been nothing short of incredible. We are so thankful for that and will continue to do all we can to take care of you.

New post added at My Turf LLC - 7 Layer Lettuce Salad

Probably not the most common title for a lawn care blog post, but I heard someone on Wood radio compare the layers of leaves, then snow, then leaves, then snow on their lawn to a seven layer lettuce salad and I had to chuckle a little bit.

New post added at My Turf LLC - How Important is a Good Layer of Topsoil?

I have been reminded several times already this year how important a good layer of topsoil is for lawns to thrive. I thought I would share some pictures from a few site visits I have made over the past two months that show pretty clearly the need for good soil.
