Long post but honest one…

“Okay… but what’s the damage gonna be?”

I get this question ALL the time when someone reaches out about cleaning, and I completely understand wanting to know what you’re getting yourself into financially.

When I walk through your home, I’m not just looking around and throwing out a number.

I’m considering:
-How much time each room is realistically going to take
-Whether this is a standard clean, deep clean, move-in/move-out, etc.
-The overall condition of the home
-How much buildup, soap scum, grime, and yes… how much grout I’m going to be scrubbing
-Whether the job requires one cleaner or additional hands
-Frequency of service
-Mileage and travel time
-Fuel and vehicle expenses
-Laundry, including washing all those microfiber cloths
-Trash removal and disposal
-Cleaning products and materials
-Equipment, maintenance, and replacement costs
-Insurance
-Taxes
- Business expenses and overhead(payroll, software costs)
💪And, most importantly, the actual labor required to get your home 🧼

Once I leave the walkthrough, I review everything and put together the estimate. You’ll receive your customized quote within 24 hours.

And honestly? There’s something I wish more people understood about professional cleaning:

This is hard work.

We are on our feet for hours. We’re bending, kneeling, reaching, scrubbing, lifting, vacuuming, mopping, climbing, wiping, hauling, and repeating it all over again.

It is physically demanding, back-breaking work.

So when a professional cleaning company gives you a price, please understand that you’re not just paying for someone to “come clean your house.”

And yes, we absolutely understand that everyone has a budget. We’re happy to discuss your priorities and what services make the most sense for your home.

But we’re also not interested in penny-and-diming our labor or competing to see who can work the hardest for the least amount of money.

There is a difference between being reasonably priced and being underpriced.

At Summit Cleaning Co., we want to provide quality service, pay our team fairly, cover our business expenses, and still be here to serve our clients next year.

So when you ask, “What’s the damage gonna be?” — give us a little time to do the math.

Not all 1,800 sq ft homes are created equal… and that’s exactly why we don’t do “one-size-fits-all” pricing 👇

Single-story, couple with no kids, rarely cooks
Carpeted bedrooms, simple insert showers (no grout/glass), no ceiling fans

-This home is typically quick maintenance cleaning with minimal buildup

🏡 Home 2:
Two-story, family of 5, 2 young kids + 2 dogs
Cooks daily, all LVP floors, ceiling fans in every room
Tiled showers, glass doors, jetted tub, brass finishes

➡️ This home requires significantly more time, detail, and specialty products

Same square footage… but completely different level of work.

When a real estate agent trusts us to gift a deep clean to their clients… we show UP. ✨

This one was a big job — no where close to everything even made it into photos — but it took a team of 3 of us nearly 7 hours to get this home move-in ready for the new homeowners (and yes… the guest house too 😉).

It was hot, it was tough, and there was a whole lot of elbow grease involved… but moments like today remind us exactly why we do what we do. When the new homeowners sent us the kindest message, it MADE our week!

We don’t just scrub toilets for a living.
