Green Planets Tip of the day: Ways to "green" your business
Reduce energy and save money

Switching off your computers, printers, other equipment and lights at night are easy ways not only to save energy but obviously save money. Even during the day, encouraging employees to turn off lights when they leave a room, switch off computers and unplug mobile phone chargers when not in use will save you money. Also, running cleaner vehicles and running them less often will reduce your bills. Rather than use a screensaver, set your monitor to power off after the same amount of time – it’s easy!

Checking heating and air conditioning are not on at the same time can help, and keeping doors closed when either of these are on will help their effectiveness. If rooms are empty, why not turn the heating or air con off (as well as turning off the lights)?

Ways to "green " your business. This is a great idea that all companies can implement.
First we counted calories, then carbs. Now it's carbon, as retailers introduce product labels that encourage customers to weigh their eco-sins. The most ambitious: British grocery giant Tesco, which has a program to label all 70,000 of its products with carbon breakdowns.

All Trees are critical to the earth's environmental cycle. They provide food and homes to many wildlife species. Trees also help counteract the effects of global warming by serving as a "sink" for the increasing amounts of CO, released into our atmosphere.
Some types of wood are considered sustainable resources because new tree of that type can be grown quickly without a lot of environmental damage or quality compromise. So when you go out this week to buy a tree, please pick an eco -friendly tree farm.

If you live in snow country, a simple test of insulation levels is
to see if snow melts from your roof faster than from your neighbor's roof.
If so, you're probably losing too much heat.
Call in a professional to install fresh insulation.
Keep a lookout for this when the snow starts falling

Locate air leaks.
Use the incense test. Carefully (avoiding drapes and other flammables) move a stick along your walls. where smoke wavers you have air sneaking in and heating or cooling sneaking out. These areas need to be plugged.
