I think this is an interesting perspective on organizing/de-cluttering. I don't entirely agree with it. She makes a number of good points though. Extremes of everything are never good and this is a fairly extreme method or organizing/de-cluttering.Also throw babies/children into the mix and that changes things. However I would argue that having some system in place for being organized and reducing clutter helps reduce stress and makes life a lot easier with young children. When my son was 26 months old we had twins - we could not have survived without being organized and having systems in place. You can reduce accidents by putting things away or reduce stress by being able to put your hands in what you want, when you want it. So whilst her system may not work for everyone some elements would arguably be of benefits to families of babies and young children.

Kondo had her first baby in July, and I’d be willing to bet even she has slipped once or twice since then.
