I hate that the world feels like this right now. Whatever happened to being kind during the holidays? This is supposed to be a season of compassion, giving, and gratitude — yet everywhere I look, people are treating each other horribly.

Food service workers, grocery store staff, Costco/Sam’s/Walmart employees, house cleaners, landscapers… everyone in the service industry is under insane pressure this time of year because everyone waits until the last minute, everyone is stressed, and somehow that turns into people taking it out on the workers who are actually trying to help.

I see employees getting snapped at for things they can’t control. I see customers acting like basic kindness is optional. I see house cleaners and service providers treated like they’re invisible. And it honestly breaks my heart.

It costs nothing to be kind. Nothing to say “thank you.” Nothing to show patience. Nothing to remember that the human being standing in front of you is exhausted, overwhelmed, and doing their very best.

This season is supposed to be about love, gratitude, and spending time with the people you care about… but the way society is acting right now? It feels like we’ve lost something important.

Be kind. Slow down. Remember what this season is actually about.
