Big Rock WRF & Sanitary Sewer Project Water Reclamation Facility and Sanitary Sewer System Project The Village of Big Rock has started construction! The general contractor for the project is H.

Linden & Sons, Sewer & Water, Co. and the resident engineer is Applied Technologies, Inc. The project has two parts. The first part of the project, Contract A, consists of building a 14 foot wide gravel acess road from the end of 4th Street to approximately 2,000 feet west to a new water reclamation facility. The facility will include two recirculating sand filters, an ultraviolet light disinfecti

on system, and a control/generator building. The discharge of this facility will be through a wetland lined meandering stream. The facility will treat approximately 50,000 gallons of wastewater each day, all coming from the Village of Big Rock. The second part of the project, Contract B, consists of over 18,000 feet of pressure sewer pipe, ranging from 4 inches to 2 inches in diameter, installed by directional drilling along Village roads, and US Route 30. There will be approximately 160 new 1,500 gallon septic tanks installed through out the Village. Each property located within the planning area will have a tank installed and the existing tank abandoned in place.
