Today 3 years ago. We lost our Mom. GOD said that it was time for her to come home. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss her so. Miss her smile. Her laugh. Her caring arms. Her smell. Her cheering us on. I can still hear her today, in the stands. Her distinctive voice cheering. Yelling. Screaming. Over everybody else.
Through the hurt and the pain I feel, I know Mom and Dad are so happy to be together. No hurt. No pain. I know down deep in my heat, they both are up in heaven. Looking down on us. Cheering us on. Proud of the men we’ve become. Serving our father in Heaven. Being godly men. Loving our wives as Christ loves the Church. We are so blessed to have an amazing mother and father like them. Cared for us. Protected us. Provided for us. Showed us the righteous path. They are surely missed.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, [4] who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Matthew 5:4 ESV
[4] "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Jesus knows it hurts to lose our mom. He says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” This promise from Matthew 5:4 is a hug from heaven when you’re sad. It’s like Jesus is saying, “I see your tears and I’m right here with you.” When we cry, God gets it—He has felt pain too.

Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV
[8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

55:8-9 The people of Israel were foolish to act as if they knew what God was thinking and planning. His knowledge and wisdom are far greater than any human’s. We are foolish to try to fit God into our mold—to make his plans and purposes conform to ours. Instead, we must strive to fit into his plans.

If you were at the “Hearing from God” study tonight, you will appreciate that this song has been playing in my head and been a comfort to me. To see this was the scripture we were discussing was just another of our Lord’s miraculous gifts. Our God is so wonderful!

This is not mine. I borrowed it from a Bible plan I’ve been reading.

You have many choices on where you can turn for fulfilment. You can put your faith and hope in money. You can put your joy in something of this world. Or you can look to other people for comfort and distraction. But let me tell you that these things pass away and fall apart, while Jesus and His love are eternal. Seeking Jesus is never going to fail you as He is the only thing that stands firm forever. God is the source of all things good and everlasting. There is one place to turn in times of trials and triumph and that is Our Jesus.

So, I just watched a video of a girl on American idol. After getting the gold buzzer, she passed away a few weeks later from cancer. She said something to Simon that really hit home. She says, “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore to decide to be happy”.
