Mother Nature’s Pest Control

This Is What We Protect.

Bats are a protected species, but the law should not be the only reason we handle them responsibly.

When a bat colony has flightless babies, that space is functioning as a maternity ward. Evicting the mothers before the pups can fly can leave babies trapped inside, separate families, and create an even larger problem within the structure.

A group of mosquitoes caught in Atlanta's Grant Park neighborhood have tested positive for West Nile virus, according to the Fulton County Board of Health. Officials say the positive test came from a mosquito trap in the area and will work with a mosquito control vendor to reduce the mosquito population while visiting the neighborhood to raise awareness.

Health officials recommend emptying containers with standing water, using insect repellent containing DEET, wearing long, loose-fitting clothing and avoiding outdoor activity around dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes that carry the virus are most active. While many people infected with West Nile virus have no symptoms or only mild illness, severe cases can cause potentially deadly inflammation of the brain or spinal cord, with older adults and people with weakened immune systems at the highest risk.

Our rebranding by force is done. As mentioned earlier it has been a trying time for us to lose two trucks back to back while trying to juggle a schedule without annoying customers has been the most challenging time for me. This is the new Pest Control Van. It is a new day when we are working with white vehicles and the graphics have been a struggle. A big "THANK YOU" to In-Depth Wraps, she has been so tolerant of me and my OCD issue with design. They did a wonderful job and we highly recommend them to anyone BUT OUR COMPETITORS. : )

This has been such a rough season for our company.

We lost one truck in an accident and had to purchase a replacement. Then, while that truck was down, another one decided to crack a cylinder, which meant purchasing yet another replacement.

SOOOO… while our company has always purchased black trucks and had them wrapped, our two newest vehicles are white. That meant one thing: it was officially rebranding time.

For me, this was honestly a painful and stressful process. Changing the look of your company vehicles after so many years is not easy, especially when it comes after unexpected expenses and a lot of headaches.

But I have to give a huge thank you to Torri at In-Depth Wraps in Cu***ng. She made this arduous process so much easier for me, and the end result turned out WAY better than I ever imagined.

Sometimes change comes because you planned it. Sometimes change comes because life forces it. Either way, we are excited to roll out this fresh new look for Southern Wildlife Management!
