A house manager is the quiet architect of a well-run home, turning daily chaos into calm, consistent order. They oversee the moving parts of a household—scheduling maintenance, coordinating staff or vendors, managing inventories, and ensuring every detail is handled before it becomes a problem. Their work often goes unnoticed because it is designed to prevent disruption, creating an environment where everything simply works. By anticipating needs and solving issues behind the scenes, a house manager provides families with the rare gift of time—time that can be spent on careers, relationships, and personal well-being instead of logistics.

Beyond organization, my role is to bring a sense of ease and reliability that supports the emotional rhythm of your home. I build trust through discretion, consistency, and attentiveness, becoming a steady background presence families can depend on. Whether preparing for a busy week, managing unexpected challenges, or maintaining the home’s overall standard, I ensure that daily life flows smoothly. In doing so, a house manager doesn’t just maintain a household— I elevate it, helping families feel supported, under control, less stressed and less behind- helping you feel like home is HOME. Not another workplace.

I’ve been using this plastic cup for the last 2.5 years. My cleaning business has been open for over 5 years, and this is only the second plastic cup I’ve been through. It lives in my cleaning kit, helps me rinse showers, holds wet sponges etc….today it broke, cracking on the sides. This single plastic McDonald’s cup…daily use for 2.5 years. And only TWO cups in 5 years.

I can’t help but think about how people throw away MILLIONS of these cups a day. Cups that are still incredibly functional and usable. Straight to the trash after drinking out of it ONE time, when in reality it could be used for years without issue. (Not that we should be drinking from plastic but it’s the principle.) And It goes to the garbage to sit for 1000 years.

All this to say, I encourage everyone (and myself) to really try to be as accountable as you can for y(our) usage. We are so SO incredibly wasteful in this country, and most of us don’t even realize it because this has been all of our normal lives since forever, and it takes ACTIVE effort and intention to swim upstream.

5 years and 4 months after starting this business, I move to my THIRD plastic cup. I know we hear it repeated all the time, but please think about our Mother Earth, please do the little things. I know corporate waste and fast fashion and all that is sooooo much worse, but we can all do a little. Recycle, reuse, but REDUCING is the most powerful one of all. We recycle, we also compost our food and paper scraps for the garden, and even with all I do to try to be as responsible for the garbage I create, I could still do so much better. Throwing something AWAY doesn’t make It disappear. “Away” is a place. “Away” is land forever rotting with our garbage, poisoning our soil and water which ends up in our bodies.

Say no to plastic cups, don’t forget your reusable bags. Use your metal water bottle and just refill it, do the stupid little things. Every bit helps.

This is a nice way to minimize some of your beauty products that always seem to multiply while you sleep 😝

Pick 10 of your products that are almost down to the bottom or running low, and use ONLY those until you use them up. It helps if you put them in a special bowl or on a different shelf so you are reminded to use them. They will run out very quickly and you can cull the overflowing stash of products!

How often?????

Toilets- every week. Just embrace it, love it. Clean toilets are good luck.

Counters- every night/every other night

Floors- daily sweep and dust pan. Spot clean, mop every two weeks. Maybe every week if you have large or multiple animals.

Tubs and showers- every two weeks

Fans- once a month

Ovens- (depends on how much you bake…) every 3-4 months.

Microwaves- weekly

Litter boxes- DAILY people. DAILY.

Dusting- every two weeks if you’re keeping up with the other things…it won’t build up as much.

Behind and under furniture- every 6 months…I do more often, but my house is small.

Sinks- every 2-3 nights. (Easy to do while you brush your teeth) I keep a sponge and spray under my sink so it’s easy to grab and put back within two minutes. Make maintaining things easy for yourself.

Trash can washing- perfect world? Every two weeks. Realistically? Once a month.

Sheets/pillowcases- weekly. For us weekly on Sundays.

Blankets- monthly.

Cabinets- every two weeks but I tend to wipe more often.

Doors and door handles- every two weeks.

Windows- monthly.

Blinds- dust every 2 weeks. Wet wipe monthly.

Drain cleaning- monthly.

Stove- quick wipe after every time you cook. Soap and water on the weekend.

Light switches/door k***s- monthly and spot clean when you see fingerprints/dirt.

Car- every 2 weeks. Not to perfection, but empty and vacuum.

Other things to clean people don’t think about…
Your purse
Your kids backpacks
Makeup brushes
Actual makeup containers
Makeup bag
Inside shelves/cabinets
Under your cabinets
Under your fridge
Under your oven
Under your washer/dryer
Window tracks
Tops of door frames and window frames
Grout lines
Inside and top of your fridge
Legs of chairs and tables

Remember: maintenance is WAYYYYY easier than having to take a whole weekend to deep clean your house. Every day I do SOMETHING, and often once I start, I’ll do more than I had initially planned to.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I wanted to say thank you ALL for the continued support of my business, we’re almost FOUR years deep! Which also means 4 years of my husband being stroke free which is initially why I began this venture.

In providing cleanings for you, you have provided LIFE for me, the ability to provide for my family and my kids and many of you have been with me from the very beginning!

This was my best year yet, business wise and possibly even life wise- it was an incredibly productive and rewarding year! We bought our very first house and it just feels surreal that cleaning could have brought me to this point.

I am consistently humbled by all your kindness, your gracious giving and your support of my small business. It all matters so much…when you support humble hands, you keep food on my table and help two little boys get to sing with the Atlanta Boy Choir, and so much more. The thanks comes from the absolute bottom of my heart, and thank you for EACH of your parts in making all of this possible. To support small business for so long, with so much dedication and persistence…it feels like love. God bless each of you in 2024!

I just LOVE when the glass is clear again!
