UPDATE: good news! We reached the original goal, which covered 2 loads. Looks like I will need one more load for $180.
They also need some kind of storage solution. I feel 16 cube kallex units would be best since with neurodivergence and handicaps open organization is better than dealing with drawers. I would like at least 3 of them. I’m finding them on marketplace for $50-$75 but then we need to figure out how to get them to the family. They are currently $179 each at IKEA so that may actually be cheaper than having someone pick them up from marketplace buyers since IKEA shipping is $39. It would be $625 for the 3 units new.
The mother of the family is also sleeping full time on the sofa since she can’t sleep flat for medical reasons. She has seizures and other considerations. I would love to find a way to get her an electric adjustable twin bed. (Like a hospital bed). Does anyone have resources to find this?
Hello Friends. I’m hoping you can help with this request. It is an urgent request for help by Friday morning. (7/12/24)
Please bump and also contribute if you can.
I'm reaching out to ask for your help and support for a remarkable disabled family in our community who have consistently served and given back to those in need. Unfortunately, they are now facing a challenging situation and need our assistance.
The family, who has generously housed the homeless by sharing their home with others are in need of our help after their last homeless guests left their home (that they continue to live in) in a devastating and unsafe condition that is uninhabitable by health code standards. But they have no where else to go.
The family is in dire need of:
*junk removal services,
*plumbing repairs
* bedbug & roach treatment
*miscarriage fluid removal
*animal f***s removal,
*a deep clean and disinfection of their home.
What makes this situation even more challenging is that both adults are disabled. Some of the children have special needs as well. The family disabilities include epilepsy, genetic conditions, neurodivergence, spinal and orthopedic injuries, brain injuries, and mental health conditions.
The whole family requires regular nursing services and rely on programs like GAPP, the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program, and WellCare to support their needs.
The essential in-home services are on pause until the clean up is complete as providers can not enter the home in the current condition. The family urgently needs our help to clean and restore their home so they can live safely and receive medical care.
Deep Clean Atlanta, LLC is donating cleaning services. I will apply pest products and prepare the home for cleaning myself as a personal labor of community care before bringing my crew in. A plumber is donating their services as well.
If the family was to pay for this job, it would run over $5000. Current donations collected by the family will cover the cost of pest products and biohazard cleanup products.
What we need urgent help with is funds to pay $500 for the junk removal services (I am going to pack & place bagged junk and mattresses on the curb to reduce the cost of the junk removal fee). If I can get an additional $120 to find help moving the mattresses and bags I pack up to the curb that would be great as I can not bring my employees in till that is done for insurance reasons. ($620 total). Any excess funds will be used to cover unforeseen expenses and help the family get back on their feet.
Let's come together as a community to support this incredible family who has given so much to others. Any help or donation, big or small, will make a significant difference in their lives.
Lori Amanda whose life mission is to help others has generously offered to receive funds on the families behalf. You can Venmo her at and put “Biohazard Clean” in the memo.
If you need a tax receipt message Lori directly for Giving Grace info. (A non-profit that can accept funds on our behalf for this need)
