Most cars don't get dirty all at once.
A little road film. A little brake dust. A little salt. A little time. Most people judge their vehicle by the hood and windows, but the real buildup usually starts lower—on the wheels, wheel wells, and lower panels that take the most abuse.
After more than 20 years and over half a million vehicles, we've learned that vehicles don't age from one big event. They age quietly through thousands of small ones. The good news is that proper maintenance works the same way.
