A US-based company, Okava Pharmaceuticals, is launching a new clinical trial for a feline weight-loss treatment modeled after popular human drugs like Wegovy and Mounjaro.

Their latest project, MEOW 1, uses a tiny implant that gradually releases a GLP-1 medication over six months. Fifty overweight cats will receive the implant and be evaluated at the 3- and 6-month marks.

According to Okava, helping cats lose excess weight can significantly improve lifespan and reduce the risk of diabetes. If the treatment proves effective and receives regulatory approval, it could be available by 2027, with an expected cost of around $100 per month.

A 49-year-old Norwegian man, Tykjen, says Elon Musk’s Grok AI helped save his life after an ER doctor misdiagnosed his severe abdominal pain as acid reflux and sent him home.

Still in intense pain, he described his symptoms to Grok, which suggested a possible perforated ulcer or atypical appendicitis and urged him to request a CT scan. When he returned to the hospital, doctors discovered an inflamed appendix on the verge of rupturing and removed it just in time.

Tykjen later admitted he didn’t tell the doctors that an AI had prompted his return, worried they might dismiss its advice.

Chinese tech creator Fan Shisan from Sichuan has gone viral after unveiling a swarm of drone-powered “flying swords.”
His video shows more than ten sword-shaped drones taking off simultaneously, gliding through the air as he controls them with simple hand gestures using motion-tracking technology.

Each drone is designed like a quadcopter, with propellers placed on the tip, pommel, and both sides of the cross-guard. Fan has previously engineered an even larger hovering sword sturdy enough to stand on — earning him two Guinness World Records.

Now, he’s aiming for his most ambitious project yet: a massive synchronized swarm of “ten thousand swords as one,” straight out of classic wuxia fantasy.

Dutch biologist Professor Freek Vonk, along with 14 researchers from nine countries, has identified a colossal northern green anaconda (Eunectes akayima) in the Amazon Rainforest. Thailand conducted airstrikes on Cambodia on Monday after Cambodian troops opened fire on Thai forces in Ubon Ratchathani province, killing one Thai soldier and injuring four others.
