What Does a Post-Construction & Remodel Clean Include?

Not all cleanings are the same—especially after construction or a remodel. These jobs require a detailed, top-to-bottom approach to make a space truly move-in ready or ready for the market.

Here’s what you can expect from Farwell Cleaning:

• Dust Removal (Everywhere!)
Construction dust settles on everything—walls, ceilings, trim, vents, and inside cabinets. I remove all fine dust, not just what you can see.

• Windows & Glass Cleaning
Removal of stickers, paint overspray, and dust from windows, tracks, and frames for a clear, streak-free finish.

• Detailed Surface Cleaning
Baseboards, doors, trim, light fixtures, and all surfaces are wiped down and polished.

• Kitchen Deep Clean
Inside and outside of cabinets, drawers, countertops, appliances, and backsplashes cleaned and ready for use.

• Bathroom Sanitizing
Full scrub and sanitation of showers, tubs, toilets, sinks, and fixtures—removing construction residue and buildup.

With this beautiful weather around the corner, it’s the perfect time for fresh starts and finished projects ☀️

This week included 3 post-construction cleans, 2 move-in ready cleans, and 4 residential homes. The post-construction projects were brought from the construction phase to ready to be listed and put on the market.

Post-construction cleaning requires a high level of detail. Construction dust settles throughout the home, often in places that get overlooked during a walkthrough

• Cleaning light fixtures inside and out
• Removing grout and construction mud from tubs and showers
• Detailing stone walls and surfaces covered in dust
• Cleaning windows, corners, and trim where drywall dust settles

Safety Reminder from Farwell Cleaning – Serving Northeast Ohio

Good morning everyone. I want to share something important for fellow cleaners, contractors, realtors, and property managers.

Last week I received a texts about a move-in ready cleaning, and over several days we texted back and forth like you normally would when confirming a job. The person using the name “Jay” even gave me a real address, which allowed me to look up the property.(this property was only on the market for one week and sold) But a few things still didn’t feel right. They wouldn’t provide full names, and the photos they sent were screenshots from a realtor’s website.

Because my background in fire restoration cleanup has taught me to double-check details and think about safety, I contacted the listing realtor directly. He kindly went above and beyond, reached out to the buyer, and confirmed no cleaning had been scheduled. I’m very thankful for professionals who take safety seriously.

I truly don’t know if they were trying to get money or possibly lure me to a vacant property alone—but either way, it’s a reminder to trust your instincts.

Please remember:
• Verify new clients, especially for vacant properties
• Confirm through the realtor or property manager when possible
• Ask for full names, contracts, or a walkthrough before scheduling
• Don’t go alone to unfamiliar vacant homes without confirmation
• If something feels off, pause and double-check

I also checked both numbers on a reverse lookup site—JAY’S didn’t show high spam and the other did—which shows you can’t rely on that alone. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post the phone numbers publicly, but I’m happy to share them..

As small business owners doing post-construction, remodel, commercial, Airbnb, and move-in ready cleanings around Northeast Ohio, we often work alone in empty homes. Your safety matters more than any job.

Stay aware, look out for each other, and trust your gut.
