NAMA PROJECT (TURNING WASTE INTO VALUABLE PRODUCTS)
We are privileged for having been selected to represent the private service providers in waste management in Eastern Uganda, in the ongoing NAMA PROJECT, by Ministry of Energy in partnership with NEMA and Global Environmental Facility (GEF). NAMA project aims at turning waste into reusable products like electricity, compost, briquettes among others.
In the just concluded activity, we were on a bench marking visit to KCCA, Coca-Cola plastic recycling plant in Kyambogo, and National Water waste treatment plants in Bugolobi and Lubiji . These entities have already put in place facilities that are turning waste into reusable products.
Kampala Capital City Authority - KCCA for example works with a private company called Proteen to turn waste into compost, chicken feed, and oil.
NATIONAL WATER has setup a large plant which is set to turn waste into ELECTRICITY.
As ECOPICK, we are on the path to learning, building strategic partnerships, and acquiring skills that will enable us build capacity to serve our clients better.
We are creating CLEAN & GREEN Cities.
