Just voicing out,
I have been doing house cleaning for 5years, 1st 3years were part time and last 2years full time.
Whenever I encounter any rude customer, I won’t hesitate to reject the offer. Throughout my experience, there are actually quite a lot of rude and self proclaimed high class rotten attitude human. In this cleaning career, people often look down on we Cleaners. I have somehow use to it keeping quiet as somehow being rude at is a norm in my daily life.
(Here’s a mystery secret you may wonder, I’ve found out that richer people are so much humble than those self proclaimed high class. A humble person is always rich at heart, if you get what I mean.)
Whenever you hire a cleaner, have you ever think for them? No one born to desire to be a house cleaner as their dream.
I work as a cleaner as I drop out of school early to support my mom who has mental issues and 3 younger brothers to dote on. Due to higher cost of living due to inflation, I have to do house cleaning as the job pays higher than me working as an admin cm accounting in shipping company and secretary under district manager in an insurance company.
This job is never easy, dangerous and puke jerker 🤮 , cleaning toilets that have poops splashed all over, house infested with worms, climbing ladders as high as 1storey tall, cleaning windows, spine injury that took me 8months for a full recovery...
I just hope people will be more appreciative than being rude. I am definitely not referring to all employers, 75% of the employers who have had employed me are magnificently kind from inside out.
The lucky thing about being local is, I can reject customer who may have tendency to ruin my day.
The unfortunate ones are the foreigners, they can’t cancel contracts or work permit as and when they like if they experience verbal abuse and ill treatment during work. Throughout my experience being a cleaner, I feel that the foreign Cleaners deserved to be respected and treated humanly.
After much exploration finding what I really want in life, I’m thankful that since last year, I have decided to further study. Now my dream is to save up enough to pursue degree in either economics or law. I will be working as cleaner for 3 more years to save it up.
Still, I have to deal with negative customers time to time, I won’t hesitate to reject rude offer for sure. My job is to do my best to do a good cleaning 🧹 🧼 🧻🛁🧽🧴at your comfortable home and as much as I can avoid any possible conflict.
